The point was never the teeth
Veneers, bonding and Invisalign — designed digitally, trialled in your mouth, and only then made permanent.

Before, and after
Same patient, same camera, same lighting, nothing retouched. Underneath each one is a person who went back to doing something.

Invisalign
He stopped closing his mouth in every photograph. Seven months, 22 aligners.

Porcelain veneers
He started eating out with colleagues again. Ten units, three visits.
See the casesFive ways in
Most people arrive asking for veneers. Around half leave with something smaller, cheaper and reversible, because it was the right answer.
Hand-layered ceramic bonded to minimally prepared teeth — the option when shape, colour and alignment all need to change at once. Each unit is made by one technician, then checked against your face in a trial fit before it is bonded.
See veneer casesSculpted freehand onto the tooth with no drilling and no injection. Best for chipped edges, small gaps and worn corners. Fully reversible, around a third of the cost of porcelain, and refreshable in five to seven years.
See bonding casesClear aligners that move your own teeth into position first. Doing this before any cosmetic work means less tooth needs removing later — and sometimes it means no veneers at all.
See Invisalign casesCustom trays and clinical-grade gel, worn overnight. Unglamorous, and often the only treatment someone actually needs. Always done before bonding or ceramics so the shade can be matched to your new baseline.
Ask about whiteningPhotographs, a 3D scan and a digital mock-up built around your lip line and bite, followed by a trial smile you wear out of the clinic for a day. Nothing permanent is made until you have lived with the shape.
Ask about smile designYou see it before we start
Four appointments, in this order. Nothing irreversible happens until step three has been approved by you.
Consultation
Forty-five minutes. Photographs, a scan, and a straight answer on whether treatment is worth doing at all.
Digital design
Your smile is drawn on screen against your lip line, bite and face shape, then sent to you to react to.
Trial smile
The design is placed in your mouth for a day. You eat, talk and photograph it, then we change what you don't like.
Fit
Final ceramics bonded, edges polished, bite balanced. Reviewed two weeks later, and annually after that.
“I'm not just changing how you look. I'm changing how much you join in.”
Jin Thakrar, cosmetic dentist
Dentistry
Restoring confidence. Told through what changed afterwards, never through the teeth.
Family
Husband and father. The ordinary evidence that a life well lived is the point of it.
Golf
Play, competition, being present — the opposite of sitting things out.
Adventure
Curiosity and appetite. Someone still going out to find things.
Why I talk most patients out of veneers
The honest version of a conversation I have several times a week, and what I usually suggest instead.

Read the pieceThree rooms, one dentist
Jin treats at all three practices himself, and your notes, scans and photographs follow you between them.
